Simple. Sustainable. Scientific.
Before participants find Wellspring, they have been given information about proper diet and fitness; they have often tried other diets, consulted a nutritionist, or worked out with a fitness trainer. If they lost weight through any of these efforts, the results were temporary.
A recent study by the Associated Press found that although the federal government spends $1 billion on various nutrition education programs in schools, of the 57 programs studied, 54 were shown to have no effect on improving students' eating habits. Why? Because simply sharing information with students and families is not enough.
Participants have to be engaged. They have to be immersed in an intensive, comprehensive diet and fitness program that teaches lifestyle change. Only then will weight loss occur, and only then will the weight loss be maintained.
Wellspring Community Programs are based on decades of scientific research on what works. Thousands of children, teens, and young adults have learned our fitness and weight loss program. And the changes to their bodies, their confidence, and their outlook on the future have been transformative.
